Neuropsychology

Our approach
What do we do?
A brain injury can cause changes in your:
- Cognitive skills (such as memory, attention, visual and verbal skills, speed of thinking, planning and decision-making)
- Mood
- Behaviour
Neuropsychologists look at the interactions between these areas. They can help you to understand these changes, support you to recover skills and develop new skills and coping strategies.
What to expect?
Our work is based on your needs and difficulties. When we first meet you we will ask questions about your situation, what you find difficult and what you want to achieve. We may use some questionnaires to help collect information on your mood and cognitive skills. Based on this we will agree an intervention plan with you. This may include:
- Cognitive assessment; this includes a selection of tasks to gather a detailed understanding of changes in cognitive skills.
- Cognitive rehabilitation; tasks and strategies to help you recover cognitive skills, learn new skills to compensate for changes, or learn coping strategies
- Talking therapies; evidence based therapy to help manage changes in mood and support adjustment to the challenges of living with a brain injury
- EMDR; a specific therapy for those experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
The frequency we see you, and the length of intervention will depend upon your needs.

Locations we cover
Here are the areas where we can see clients in their homes
We currently work in Surrey, London and some areas in the South East. We charge for the travel time associated with each visit to see a client. Travel is typically charged at 75% of the standard hourly rates. This is based on the projected drive time for the return journey between the therapist’s home and the location in which they are seeing the client. Wherever possible we will allocate therapists who are based nearest to the client’s home.
Where appropriate we can also arrange to see clients in rooms near our therapists, thereby reducing travel costs.
